Signed from the works team of the Ilford Electricity Board in March 1920 his full debut was against Bury in December 1921. He helped the Hammers achieve promotion to the first Division for the first in 1923 and in the same year he was part of the losing Hammer’s team that contested the first FA Cup Final what was staged at old Wembley Stadium, known as The White Horse Final.
ALBERT CADWELL: 1923–1933

Albert joined West Ham from Nunhead during the 1923-24 season, This was the Hammers first season in Division. his debut came against Chelsea on 20 October 1923. Succeeding Jack Tresadern as first choice left-half, His last game came against Charlton Athletic on 8 April 1933.

Sadly Albert died during the Second World War on 13th July, 1944.
TED HUFTON: 1915-1932

Ted played for the Hammers as a guest after he was wounded while serving for his country (Cold stream Guards) in France during the First World War, the Nottinghamshire-born keeper was signed from Sheffield United for just £350 in 1919.
He was part of the original West Ham team that were elected to The Football League for the first time in 1919, they went on to win promotion to the First Division during the 1922–23 season.
He also appeared in the famous White Horse Final, the first FA Cup final at the brand new Wembley Stadium.
