He was a tough tackler with a strong shot, One of the best ever penalty takers for the Hammers.
No goalkeeper was really ever going save the Terminator’s spot-kick. when he laid that ball down on the 12 yards spot, you could see the keeper nerves showing as he run up and there was normally only one outcome. GOAL !
Julian scored 65 goals in all types of competitions for The Hammers thoughout his career, Ranking him an amazing 17th in the Hammers all time top-scorers Not to shabby for a defender.
Julian spent two wonderful spells at the Hammers, playing for West Ham for a total of ten years before finally hanging up he boots and saying goodbye to the supporters in 1999 as a player but carried on as a coach at the club.
He scored 35 penalties, only missing four.
