Moved from Bermuda to England at the age of 18 He made his debut for the Hammers in a 1–1 home draw against Arsenal on 25 August 1969.
Best was one of England’s first black footballers a powerful player with the skills of a traditional English centre forward, eventually becoming one the Hammer’s fans favourites at the Boleyn.
